i would love to volunteer my time and do something to help. there’s just one problem. i’m kind of busy looking for a PERMANENT and REAL job. i have a bachelors and an associates and i can’t find one for shit. so, like i’ve heard so many times before over the last couple of months “thanks but no thanks”.
@EdTheBadass
Bullshit. It’s not compromise when you hand over millions of new customers to the insurance companies — the crooks who thrive off the broken system and make their riches by killing people — on a silver platter, paid for by government. Obama took a broken system and made it worse. The public option WAS the compromise (vs. single payer)! Where has compromise gotten him so far? I’ll tell you where: 40% approval rating. Bush didn’t compromise and he knew how to get shit done.
Here’s the best line from President Obama yet: “Republicans aren’t being honest with the American people.” It doesn’t get any better than this. The Deceiver-in-Chief criticizing others for not telling the truth.
@musclegenii the messed up thing is there was one thing the republicans did give obama but he passed up the oppertunity by spliting a bill and that really pisses me off and it was for tax cuts for the poor/middle class and to higher taxes for the rich so instead he split that bill instead of making it all one thing so now everybody could have low taxes and thats not right especailly not while we are in a resection and he always was a good talker but he never does what he talks and talk is cheap
And while we’re on the topic of compromise… Why should he have compromised? Do you realize that Obama ran on a sweeping-healthcare-reform platform and was voted into office decisively? He had a clear mandate to implment true reform. And during the healthcare saga, poll after poll showed that Americans were FOR a public option. Compromise is usually to get something in return. What did he get? GOP still voted NO on the bill! I agree with smart compromise. This, however, was anything but.
@kazooga1234 your Right i Really think he could have fought harder and i think he should stand up stronger and not bow to pressure,i just think it’s him to try to compromise to much and he has to get tougher and stand his ground,i think he’s learning now he has to get tougher and not back down.
Dear Mr President,
You won because we all believed in a public option, the green jobs, help to the poor and elderly, better pay for teachers and less corporations running our government but the government working for the people you gave us hope in your speeches and all we have seen is nothing you bent over to the GOP I didnt vote republican none of us did for a reason and I sure as heck wouldnt like most stop listening to the wealthy morons around you and make good on your promises to US.
I dont care for the birthers or teabaggers or faux news or glen beck and his racist rallies… anyone with half a functioning brain knows faux is a corporation trying to run our government with propaganda and inciting hate amungst us to divert the issues at hand that will effect us all. With that said you sir are doing no better I though many tell me I am delusional still have some sense of hope you will do what you were voted for stop listening to polls. Listen to the millions who voted for you
@musclegenii just the public option would have been fine he didnt even fight for the public option thats my problem and he didnt fix the health care system at all o ya and netneutrality could have also easily been passed by now the rest of the weak bill stuff i could let slide if he got 1 of the major things done but none of the bills where strong and i expect him to be able to pass things like bush did bush intruded on our rights but he got that shit passed
@musclegenii
First of all, you + are = you’re.
Everyone that doesn’t agree with you is a Republican, huh? Wow, that’s an easy way out. How did Obama sell us out? He promised he wouldn’t play the old Washington games of kowtowing to special interests. Instead of showing leadership and getting people (incl Congress) on board with good ideas (like the public option and more robust financial reform), he allowed the GOP to kill everything. He actually made healthcare worse. CONT…
Obama has been a pussy on every issue. He may give fancy speeches but he’s a politician who doesn’t know how to play his cards. He never uses any of the leverage he has to force the GOP to sign on to his bills. In his crazy head, he thinks if he finds a lukewarm middle ground between GOP nuttery and real reform, somehow the Right is going to gradually accept him. Well, look where that’s got him! The Right still hates him, and now so do many progressives. Obama is not a leader; he’s a stooge.
Another small example of why I’m disgusted with the White House: Whenever the Right claims fake outrage on any issue, whether meritted or not, the White House bends over backwards to apease them. They should be ashamed of themseleves for firing Shirley Sherrod. It’s a great example of how they prefer politics over truth. She was innocent but the White House didn’t lose a minute to sack her ass. Same thing with the guy behind the Climate Gage ‘scandal’. Forced to resign. Why? Because Fox says so!
I dont want you to think I think for one second your plate isnt full and you have more on your hands than any person could handle and the job of president IS not without its issues and weight on your shoulders… but again we voted for the change we wanted I didnt vote for middle ground we had ways to go around the repukelicans so why do we care if they try to stop issues if you know they will anyway just use reconsiliation and get it done instead of this middle that they will never do for you.
Their goal is to make a president who said change will come and stiffel absolutly anything you lay on the table just do do it so you will be the president of nothing or the president of the same. I understand there is more behind the sceans than the average person may have knowledge of so may I make a suggestion. TELL US! Not all of us are mental midgets with signs. You had faith in us once and laid the cards it down. We come together when we need to hence your election.

@kazooga1234 Really how much change do you think you Should get in less than 2 years.
@dookdawg214
it is called finding compromis.
(Though in extreme situations maybe strighforward blind ruling could be more effective, of course)

@SunRunnerNY and the Republicans getting control should fix that RIght ?

I’m a bitter whiner. I have the right to descent. Besides…I’m not seeing much of a difference. If you do…I’d like to know where.
