Barack Obama what are African Americans thinking of him?

I am just curious. What do African Americans think of Barack Obama’s views since being elected and what do they think of the people he picked for his cabinet? I know he is not in office yet but he has picked people and stated some views.

They don’t know his views, all they know is that they have a black man in office. I guess they no longer have an excuse for not knowing how to act, do they?

  2. pretty colors says:

    they voted him in

    I do not know?
I know that there a a lot of Black Americans that are conservative and well educated.
It would be interesting to hear their theories.
I do not believe to many of them are on here much.

European Americans are cool with Obama

  5. Panda says:

During the campaign, they were calling him an Uncle Tom. Meaning that he was more acting like a white guy, or even a servant of them, than a man standing on his own two feet.

They also were criticizing him saying he wasn’t black enough.

In time, I think they will come to realize what he really is. A politician, who talks out of both sides of his mouth. Saying anything he has to in order to get elected.

    I don’t like him. And I’m a Democrat.
And….I am NOT “African American”. I am black.
    Never been to Africa.

Well I’m not the ambassador of black people but I will say for me personally I think his views mirror’s Bush in many ways he didn’t talk about anything substantial that signify any type of change, & no I’m not a McCain supporter he was just as worse, back to Obama Most if not all his cabinet picks are tied to lobbyist & special interest groups, Obama has ran on this feel good persona to win which was another reason why I did not vote for him, I heard nothing but rhetoric in all his speeches No different from what any other politician before him has said

  10. TheDreamer says:

wow it amazed me to see so many black stereo types in some of the answers above but I being of color think that Obama is a breath of fresh air and will restore this nation unlike the last president. Yes there was a lot of African American people that just voted for him because he was Black but can you blame them as many years as they have gone seeing our nation get taken down. Luckily they voted in a man that is not only black(and white) but they voted in the right guy for the job. will he fix everything the bushes and last presidents before him left NO! because he is coming in to a messy situation. About his cabinet picks I think they’re okay I would have pick some different people for some of the positions but I have trust that he knows what he is doing!
