If Barack Obama WINS the Democratic nomination, will he win the general election against John McCain?

Okay, let’s say Hilary Clinton loses against Barack in the nomination… Do you think Barack would win the general elction? Polls say, most of Hillary’s voters would vote for John McCain. Do you think that he would? Also, do you think Hillary would win against McCain?

Personally, I think that Obama doesn’t have a chance against McCain. Hillary, MIGHT. But she’d have to get past the nomination, which isn’t likely at this point. If only she had Florida and Michigan.

If he can avoid debates, maybe.

  2. ?? ??????? AM's ??? Liaison says:

I can’t say for certain. But I hope not. I’m no soothsayer.

  3. shame on who? not me, yes you! says:

My dog could beat McCain in November.

This is a gimme general election.

  4. Lakrosse says:

it’s really McCain’s to lose. But Obama will win

  5. Don't let the facts confuse says:

He is not presidenial material, and will lose

  6. Mandy says:

I do not think that Obama stands a chance in hell against McCain. I do however feel that Hillary does.

  7. the man says:

Of course. I think people want to leave Iraq. OR..they can choose McCain and continue to burn 12 Billion per month in Iraq.

If Americans are stupid..and I think they are…McCain will win.

Why do I think Americans are dumb? These are the same idiots that elected Bush TWICE and to their own detriment.

  8. rhsaunders says:

Given Obama’s total stupidity when it comes to tax policy, I certainly hope not.

  9. maddog malone says:

Obama will lose because he is too damn stupid. I love it every time he preaches to the choir and says something really dumb! LOL

Small town Americans are really bitter. LMAO The man is a putz

  10. sparhawk7322 says:

I doubt it. I think there is too much bad blood being generated within the Democratic Party in the Hillary / Obama camps towards each other I have lost count of the Dems that have said that if their candidate looses then they are voting McCain.

  11. mo says:

Obama has a great chance once the public realizes a few things about McCain that haven’t been reported on that much in the mainstream media.

An example would be that McCain was ok with the UAE (United Arab Emirates), an Arab country, owning control over USA ports in a deal that, thankfully, didn’t go through in 2006. Shouldn’t McCain, who says he is so strong on national security not want anyone but the USA controlling our own ports??

  12. Ronald G says:

He might. Don’t count on those voters. Hillary supporters are BIG tax and spend liberals. Although dissappointed, they won’t vote for McCain. If it was so cut and dry, dems wouldn’t stand a chance. However, polls show Obama can win but Hillary cannot.

  13. Tim G says:

He is the exact face of the classic democratic general election loser. Elitist, ulta liberal, accused of being unpatriotic, contraversial, not from the south. However, theres a huge generational divide between his voters and McCain. Perhaps we’ll see a demographic shift we haven’t seen since the 1960′s………..but I doubt it, Vote Hillary.

  14. xialou1 says:

i think no dem will vote republican unless they are confused anyway

Obama will win by large margins,,,

i am uncertain why the polls say they are tied….

but by voter turnout in the primaries dems have doubled and tripled the repub turnout in every state

    unless the repubs start voting,,,,

    obama will win

  15. Paul J says:

No way. Unless the American people want to vote for a man without any experience and being a big fat liar. I really do not think America is that stupid. But then again I might be surprised.

  16. Tim says:

Hard to say at this point. In the general election, he will not be able to rely on platitudes and lovely rhetoric as much as he does currently. Also, there will be a lot more scrutiny into his background and in every word he utters. Also, if he gets teh nomination, he likely will have a very uphill battle in FL and MI, since he got the nod mostly as a result of disenfranchising those voters. Couple that with the hard feelings of many Clinton supporters, and he will have a rough row to hoe.

  17. Shane says:

I didn’t think that McCain had a chance against the left wing glamor boy, Obama, but since the revelations about Obama’s wife, church, pastor, and left wing friends, I now think that McCain will win. Obama has been outted as an ultra liberal elitist and globalist who has had serious issues dealing with white people all his life. However, Obama has most of the liberal media in his pocket.

  18. teresa c says:

Hillary and Obama have made this too personal for a lot of voters, If she wins I see Obama fans voting for McCain, If Obama wins I see Hillary’s fans voting for McCain, Or maybe neither side will vote, I see A McCain win either way.

  19. Keith C says:

no. I think his lack of character and dishonesty are about to catch up to him..he will never make it through the debates.

  20. ilewonder says:

If Hillary gets the Pres nom then I’m voting for Hillary for President. If Obama gets the nom then I’m voting for McCain for President. I would not vote for Obama even if Hillary was Obama’s VP. Obama lacks the experience to be president. I don’t even know if I could stand him on the ticket as VP now that so much bad stuff has come out about him (lack of experience, too liberal, Rev Wright, “bitter” remarks against rural Americans, hand on crotch for national anthem, etc, etc, etc,). But I will defnitely not vote for Obama at the top of the ticket. I don’t care if the democratic party pleads on its’ hands and knees. I am not voting for Obama for President. He isn’t qualified – lacks experience. Period. I don’t support Hillary because I love Hillary or because she’s some mentor friend of mine. I support Hillary because she’s the more qualified and prepared, not because I listen to whatever she tells me. So if Obama gets the nom even if Hillary were to personally ask me to vote for Obama I would still vote for McCain. I’m a lifelong democrat who will happily and proudly vote McCain if Obama gets the nom.
