I only ask because yesterday I asked “What do you think was the number 1 reason Barack Obama appealed to Black voters?” and I got some pretty interesting answers!

White guilt.
They believed his lies.
White liberal guilt and no one wanted to be seen as racist for not liking or voting for him.
Personally, his voting record and his goals for our nation is what made me vote for him.
I compared the two candidates, and it was clear that one was the best option.
EDIT: Why all of the nasty responses above (and likely below)? I have no guilt. Some of the most “Christian” people on this board have the UGLIEST attitudes I have ever seen.
bet you make under 40k a year. You are obvioulsy uneducated and want to become property of the state. Obama has promised me 13 things that scientists, economists, mathematical equations have said are inprobable in his presidency, since you have no memory I will review them with you now. He promised me to end 2 multi trillion dollar wars, which every general has claimed impossible until 2013. He has promised me a stimulus check which the cbo just yesterday said would not be available to him until 2012 due to the massive lending we the taxpayers already gave to bush for the financial bailout, he promised me that he would end foreign oil dependency and at the same time increase the windfall tax on oil companies which is what carter did and failed miserably, he promised me that he would make available a new type of fuel source, better than that of what we use now, scientists cross the board at private labs and at universities have said that this is not probable even in our life time, and if introduced today would not be integrated into our society for at least 80 years, because broke people simply couldnt afford the new technology and would simply continue to pay higher gas prices. and the list goes on.
His popularity will lose steam soon. On his first day he is at a church instead of sitting down and meeting with generals who flew into discuss Iraq.
Blinded are those like you who think a man could turn the tides of the free market. Wake up, take a math class or two and than you would realize that Obama is Jimmy carter 2 and we would have been better off with Bill clinton in office. And screw you for not accepting that people have different opinions than you , you narrow minded peasant.

He is an intelligent, deliberate person who has demonstrated deft professionalism and deep-thinking
he’s not Bush
His focus, control and integrity. He’s a very Presidential guy.
He didn’t appeal to white voters, A broken economy did, And exit polls clearly indicate this .

Obama is young, good-looking and very articulate. Oh, and he’s black. People didn’t want to seem racist, but progressive so they voted for him. It had eveything to do with style over substance. All the negative things known about him apparently didn’t matter as long as white guilt was absolved.
I just wish people knew what trouble we’re headed for with this guy in office.

He didn’t appeal to this white voter or millions or other white voters. First time black voters voted for him simply because of his skin color, ignoring that he’s half white and not caring about what the issues are. He won because he wasn’t a republican, simple as that.
Maybe they were just sick of 8 years of republican leadership.
Because he didn’t talk ghetto and he didn’t kept it real like a “real black man”
